Katja Wöhr & Petra von Goetz

We met Katja and Petra in the charming village of Biniaraix, where their Bar Bodega Biniaraix has become a special meeting point for locals, hikers, and creatives. Katja and Petra’s story is truly connected to the magic of Mallorca.

Katja first arrived in 2002 with just 350 euros in her pocket, and from that humble start, she created the brand “Flor de Sal d’es Trenc”, which is a high quality sea salt harvested here on the island. Petra, originally from Austria, traveled the world before choosing Mallorca twenty five years ago. With a background as a model, graphic designer, and mural artist, Petra has always been comfortable moving among different cultures.

Although their paths crossed early on, their deep friendship truly grew later, united by a shared love for the mountains surrounding Biniaraix. In 2023, Katja and Petra gave new life to the historic 1937 bodega. Katja mentions the bar was a "cosmic plot twist" in her life. They transformed the space into a warm, welcoming spot, filled with colourful furniture, delicious homemade pastries, hearty soups, and special weekend dinners with guest chefs. Petra says that working side by side with her best friend and partner at the Bar Bodega feels like the most natural continuation of her story: pouring heart and craft into every day, usually laughing, sometimes crying, but always creating!

Completing their special team is Olave Kersten, their beloved barista. Olave is described as "quite possibly the hardest worker on the planet, wrapped in the gentlest soul." He was born and raised in Holland, where his passion for fashion led him to work in costume couture at the Dutch Opera House. He left that life to start a new chapter in Mallorca, quickly becoming an irreplaceable member of the Bar Bodega team. Olave continues to bring his unmistakable sense of style and fashion to the bar, infusing every day with his charisma and charm.

Style for them is just as instinctive as their cooking and hospitality: Katja is wearing the Clay Linen Babel Dress and Petra the Chocolate Linen Payesa Dress; later, she is wearing the Pearl Silk Velvet Ren Blouse, while Katja pairs the Indigo Pinstripe Ren Jumpsuit with the Butter Heavy Boiled Wool Cassia Coat. Lastly, Petra wears the matching Taupe Loden Wool Vest and Wrap Mini Skirt, Katja the Tan Silk Paul Blouse with the Butter Heavy Boiled Wool Judo Pants, and Olave the Clay Linen Babel Dress.

At Bar Bodega Biniaraix, Katja and Petra are not just running a bar: they are creating a home, a community, and a little piece of Mallorca’s magic.
