Joana Avillez is an Illustrator and Writer whose playful characters and stories of growing up in the almost abandoned shipyard of Fulton Fish Market captivate and engage everyone from The New York Times to the United Nations, Vogue to Vice, and a plethora of other highly regarded publications.

Born of artistic parents, Joana is a true New Yorker, only leaving the city to study at the Rhode Island School of Design from which she swiftly returned to continue her development at The School of Visual Arts. 

We shot Joana at her stunning apartment in Tribeca where she lives with her adorable dog Pep. She wears our White Linen Short Shirt Dress with Band  and our Fucshia Silk Ren Jumpsuit.
